Joint Magistrate Rinkoo Singh Rahee wrote to the Governor of Uttar Pradesh expressing fear of a fatal attack and seeking adequate security for himself and his family. He said he feared a repeat of the 2009 Muzaffarnagar attack and alleged that police at Orai Kotwali refused to accept his written complaint. The Governor's Secretariat directed the Chief Secretary and the DGP to examine the matter and ensure security arrangements.

Rinkoo Singh Rahee raised fresh concerns over his security in Jalaun, alleging that repeated requests for enhanced protection had gone unanswered. The concerns came amid a separate controversy involving his functioning as a judicial officer and a dispute at the Orai Municipal Council.

Rinkoo Singh Rahee was transferred and posted as SDM Judicial in Orai, Jalaun, soon after a viral public confrontation with BJP Block Pramukh Ramraja Niranjan during an inspection of a cold storage facility. He denied the allegations, saying the inspection had uncovered serious irregularities and that the complaint was meant to divert attention from them. The district administration ordered an inquiry into the incident.

The Jalaun district administration ordered a probe into IAS officer Rinkoo Singh Rahee after he was accused of allegedly shoving a BJP block pramukh and attempting to slap him during an inspection of the official's cold storage facility. District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Pandey constituted a two-member committee to investigate the incident.

The Uttar Pradesh government transferred 38 IAS officers in an administrative reshuffle, appointing Rinkoo Singh Rahee as Joint Magistrate in Jalaun district. This marked his return to a field posting after months of limbo following his withdrawn resignation and previous removal from the Shahjahanpur post.

After nearly two weeks of remaining without a formal posting following his resignation, Rinkoo Singh Rahee withdrew his technical resignation on April 20, 2026, signaling his willingness to continue serving within the system. As of early May, he remained attached to the Revenue Council with minor assignments but lacked a full-fledged position.

Rinkoo Singh Rahee wrote to the President of India seeking permission for a technical resignation from the IAS, citing that he had been without substantive responsibilities for around eight months while posted at the Board of Revenue in Lucknow. He clarified that he was not leaving public service entirely but wished to return to meaningful work in his parent PCS cadre.
