Anurag Tewari was an Indian Civil Servant of the Karnataka Cadre, serving as an IAS officer.
He was known for his exceptional work in solving water scarcity issues in Bidar District, Karnataka, and for his efforts in lake restoration, organic farming promotion, and the restoration of historical structures like Surang Bavi.
His death in Lucknow on 17 May 2017 was investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which initially concluded it was an accidental fall, though his family disputed this report alleging murder due to his role in a multi-crore food and civil supplies scam in Bengaluru.
