Ishant Sharma is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who stands 6 ft 4 in tall. He is regarded as one of the greatest pacers in Indian cricket history.
He made his Ranji Trophy debut at age 18 and broke into the Indian Test team in 2007. He gained attention with a memorable spell against Ricky Ponting during the 2007-08 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
In 2011, he became the fifth youngest player to take 100 Test wickets. In February 2021, he took his 300th Test wicket, joining Kapil Dev and Zaheer Khan as the only Indian pacers in the 300-Test wicket club.
He was the highest wicket-taker in the 2008 Commonwealth Bank Series with 14 wickets and played a key role in India's 2013 Champions Trophy triumph, claiming 10 wickets in the tournament.
He delivered one of his most iconic spells in 2014 at Lord's, where his 7-wicket haul against England helped India secure a historic Test victory after 28 years.
