02/10/2026 Çalhanoğlu was working his way back to group training after a strain to his right thigh adductor muscle, which had sidelined him for a Serie A match against Udinese and the Türkiye national team's international break. Inter hoped he would be fit for the home match against Parma on 10 October 2026, with his availability to depend on how he responded to training.
24/09/2026 Reports from Tuttosport said his contract, which runs until June 2027, had not yet entered formal extension talks. Inter reportedly wanted to reduce his salary given his age and recent muscle injuries, so a renewal with lower terms or a summer 2027 departure were both considered possible.
23/04/2026 Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Inter had moved to keep Çalhanoğlu for at least one more season, beating off interest from Galatasaray. His performances that season, including nine goals and four assists in 22 Serie A appearances, were cited as a key reason, although no new contract had been announced.
23/07/2025 Hakan Çalhanoğlu publicly reaffirmed his commitment to Inter Milan amid transfer speculation linking him to clubs in Turkey. He said he is happy at Inter and wants to continue winning titles with the club, helping calm uncertainty around his future.
