Latest News about Yash Dayal
Yash Dayal was named in the Uttar Pradesh squad for the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season, ending a long gap from competitive cricket that began after the IPL 2025 final in June 2025. The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association had earlier confirmed he would join the state's Ranji camp despite the ongoing sexual exploitation allegations and legal proceedings against him. His return has drawn attention given the controversy surrounding his position with RCB.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru's director of cricket, Mo Bobat, confirmed that Dayal would not join the squad and would be unavailable for the entire IPL 2026 season, though he remained contracted to the franchise. The franchise cited a personal situation, and media reports linked the absence to the legal complaints against him, including a POCSO-related case and a separate sexual exploitation allegation.
Yash Dayal married Shweta Pundir in a private ceremony in Noida, and pictures from the event were widely shared online. The wedding took place while he was facing ongoing criminal cases.
A complaint led to an FIR being registered against Yash Dayal in July 2025 over allegations of sexual exploitation, physical violence, mental harassment, and cheating by false promises of marriage. The case became a major off-field controversy and was widely reported in Indian media.
