He served as the 28th Director General of Police of Madhya Pradesh from July 2016 to February 2019, and subsequently as the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from February 2, 2019 to February 2, 2021. He is known for his professional competence, technological innovation in law enforcement, and his open-door policy during his tenure as CBI Director.
