Romi Bhinder, the long-time team manager of Rajasthan Royals, was fined ₹1 lakh by the BCCI for breaching Players and Match Officials Area (PMOA) protocols during the IPL 2026 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Guwahati. TV cameras captured him using a mobile phone in the team dugout while sitting next to teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, violating the rule that bans cell phones in the dugout during matches. Although the Anti-Corruption Unit was not convinced by the Royals' explanation, Bhinder was spared a match ban as it was his first instance of this serious offense.
