Latest News about Wendell Carter Jr.
Carter scored 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting, with seven rebounds and one steal in 31 minutes, in Orlando's 132-125 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. The performance was seen as putting to rest doubts about his role as the Magic's starting center.
The Orlando Magic reacquired center Nikola Vucevic, which created added competition for Carter at center. Carter, who had been the team's starting center in recent seasons, faced a possible reduction in playing time depending on how the coaching staff structured the frontcourt rotation.
In Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, Carter scored 13 points with five rebounds, two assists and one block in 38 minutes. Orlando lost 116-94 to the Detroit Pistons, ending the series.
