Manojit Mishra, a 31-year-old former student and college staffer, was arrested as the prime accused in the alleged gang-rape of a 24-year-old first-year law student at South Calcutta Law College. The alleged assault occurred between 7:30 PM and 10:50 PM in the campus security guards' room. Two other accused, current students Pramit Mukherjee (20) and Zaib Ahmed (19), were also arrested. All three were remanded to police custody until July 1, 2025.
