He was a cabinet minister in the Arvind Kejriwal-led government, holding multiple key portfolios including Transport, Environment, Revenue, Administrative Reforms, Information Technology, Law, Justice and Legislative Affairs, Finance and Planning before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on 18 November 2024.
