Denis Shapovalov

Shapovalov reached the quarter-finals of the ATP 500 event in Tokyo, where he lost to Carlos Alcaraz. The run came shortly after a semi-final appearance at the ATP 250 event in Chengdu in late September 2026.

Shapovalov lost to Ben Shelton in the third round of the 2026 US Open, falling 7-6, 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 after a four-set match. The result ended his run at the final Grand Slam event of the summer hard-court season.

Shapovalov won the Mifel Tennis Open in Los Cabos, Mexico, defeating Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-4, 6-2 in the final. It was his fourth ATP Tour title and his first outside indoor hard courts, and he did not lose a set during the tournament.

Shapovalov won the 2025 Dallas Open, beating Casper Ruud 7-6(5), 6-3 in the final. It was his third ATP Tour title and his first ATP 500 title, and it marked a strong start to his 2025 season.
