The Gauhati High Court extended Abhisar Sharma's interim protection in the same FIR case after the Supreme Court directed him to approach the High Court for quashing. The Supreme Court granted journalist and YouTuber Abhisar Sharma four weeks of interim protection from arrest in a case arising from a YouTube video that criticized the Assam government and referred to alleged communal polarization. The court declined to quash the FIR at that stage and asked him to seek further relief before the Gauhati High Court. It also issued notice on his challenge to the constitutional validity of Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
