| 2. He has two brothers: one is an IAS officer and the other is a diplomat in the Indian Foreign Service. |
| 3. Prior to his IAS career, he was an associate professor at DAV College in Jalandhar. |
| 4. He has served in various roles for the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. |
| 5. Sunil Arora retired from the Indian Administrative Services on 30 April 2016. |
| 6. After retirement, he became the CEO and Director General of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. |
| 7. On 31 August 2017, he was appointed as an Election Commissioner of India. |
| 8. Later, on 26 November 2018, he became the Chief Election Commissioner of India. |
| 9. He served as the Chief Election Commissioner of India until 12 April 2021. |
| 10. He served as the Chairperson of the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB). |
| 11. He has joined agri-tech start-up Gram Unnati as its non-executive chairman. |
| 12. On 2 December 2018, he became the Chief Election Commissioner of India. |
| 13. During his tenure as Chief Election Commissioner, the 2019 Indian General Elections were conducted. |
| 14. He has over 36 years of leadership experience in civil service. |
