1. After earning his Post Graduation from St. Stephenโ€™s College in Delhi, he focused on preparing for the Civil Services exam.
2. He successfully passed the UPSC Examination and joined the Indian Administrative Service in the 1978 Batch, serving in the Rajasthan Cadre.
3. Throughout his professional journey, he accumulated over 30 years of experience in the field.
4. Rajiv is a relative of the respected Lt. General Anoop Malhotra.
5. At one point in his career, he held the position of District Magistrate and Collector in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
6. A book authored by Rajiv Mehrishi for Civil Services aspirants, titled โ€˜India 2017,โ€™ was unveiled by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on 22 May 2017.
7. He authored a book titled 'India 2022' after his tenure as CAG.
8. He was instrumental in conceptualizing and introducing the biometric and bank-linked Bhamashah card in Rajasthan, even before the Aadhar card scheme was announced by the Government of India in 2009.
9. He played a central role in setting up the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) and the enactment of the Indian Bankruptcy Code (IBC).
10. He rewrote transport taxation laws and rules for the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1984, which became a template for other states.
