Najeeb Jung is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre (1973 batch) who served as the 20th Lieutenant Governor of Delhi from July 2013 to December 2016.
He previously served as the 13th Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia from 2009 to 2013.
A prolific writer and columnist, he published the Urdu book 'Fikr-o-Aagahi' and translated verses of Ghalib into English as 'Deewan-e-Ghalib, Sariir-e-Khaama'.
He holds a Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) conferred by Jamia Millia Islamia.
