Vadivel Balaji was an Indian Tamil television comedian, mimicry artist, and actor who became widely known for his impersonation of the popular Tamil comedian Vadivelu on television programmes.
He was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, and rose to fame through comedy and mimicry segments on Star Vijay shows such as Kalakka Povathu Yaaru and Adhu Idhu Yedhu.
Balaji also appeared in Tamil films including Yaaruda Mahesh (2013) and Kolamavu Kokila (2018), and participated in reality shows like Jodi Number One (Season 8) and Mr & Mrs Chinnathirai (Season 2) with his wife.
He was admitted to private hospitals in Chennai in August 2020 after suffering a cardiac attack and later shifted to a government hospital, where he passed away on 10 September 2020 at the age of 45.
