Utah's attorney general filed 14 criminal counts against Kalshi, its CEO Tarek Mansour, and co-founder Luana Lopes Lara, alleging the platform promoted illegal online gambling. The charges followed an undercover agent placing sports bets from inside the state. Kalshi called the case a crazy overreach and said Utah was playing politics.
