Ricky AJ Syngkon, the Shillong MP and member of the Voice of the People Party, died after suffering a cardiac arrest while playing futsal in Mawiong, on the outskirts of Shillong. He was rushed to hospital but was declared dead at around 7 PM. Political leaders, including Meghalaya Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed condolences after his sudden death.
