Randy Quaid

Randy Quaid and Roseanne Barr were reported to be co-starring in Meemaw, an eight-episode comedy series filmed in Austin, Texas. Barr, who plays the matriarch of a mixed-race family of preppers, has wrapped production on the show, which marks a return to television for both veteran performers.

Quaid posted publicly criticizing the casting of Anne Hathaway in the upcoming Days of Thunder sequel, after Tom Cruise announced the project. He argued that Nicole Kidman should return instead, and the remarks drew wide media attention and criticism.

The California Court of Appeal affirmed a $3.5 million judgment against Quaid in a case brought by homeowners whose property he was arrested for squatting on. The court upheld findings that the plaintiffs were the true owners and that Quaid had slandered their title.

Quaid was named grand marshal of the 2026 Night in Venice celebration in Ocean City, New Jersey, held on 25/07/2026. He also took part in a Q&A following a screening of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation as part of the event.
