The Gujarat government reshuffled seven IAS officers and appointed Rajkumar Beniwal, a 2004-batch IAS officer, as Municipal Commissioner of the Surat Municipal Corporation. He was moved from his post as Managing Director of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. in Bharuch. The move replaced a temporary arrangement under which the Surat Collector had held additional charge of the post.
