Linda Marcovich

Marcovich reported serious damage to her home in the Santiago metropolitan region after heavy rains caused a bedroom ceiling to collapse. She shared footage of the damage on Instagram and criticised the work that had previously been carried out on the property. The incident drew wide coverage in Chilean media.

Marcovich publicly rejected remarks made by Chillán councillor Catalina Sandoval, who called Romani people a 'plague' during a municipal council session. In her response she stated that Romani people are human beings and not a plague, and she condemned the generalisation of an entire community based on individual criminal acts.
