| 9. Cheslin was beaten with bricks in Kraaifontein, escaped over a wall, and was found bloodied and barefoot by a resident; he suffered head injuries and a broken arm. |
| 10. Hannah was driven to another location near Kraaifontein, gang-raped, stabbed, and strangled; her body was found on 28 May 2017 by borehole pump technicians. |
| 11. CCTV footage captured the gang encircling their vehicle during the abduction. |
| 12. The four perpetrators were arrested in 2017 after a high-speed police chase involving the stolen car; they were tried and sentenced in 2018 to a combined 358 years in prison, with three receiving life sentences. |
