Chinmayee Gopal was appointed as the District Collector and District Magistrate of Barmer district in Rajasthan on 1 April 2026 following a major administrative reshuffle by the Rajasthan government that transferred 65 IAS officers. She replaced the widely known IAS officer Tina Dabi, who was transferred to Tonk district, and took charge after previously serving as Commissioner of the Agriculture and Panchayati Raj Department in Jaipur since 2024.
