Latest News about AJ Brimson
PNG Chiefs coach Willie Peters said he would like to sign Brimson, and the club has renewed its interest for a deal starting in 2028. Talks have been held up by a dispute over how much the Titans would contribute to his contract, which reportedly pays $900,000 a year through 2030.
England coach Brian McDermott named Brimson as starting fullback for the opening match of the 2026 Rugby League World Cup against Tonga, ahead of St Helens' Jack Welsby, who was given a place on the extended interchange bench. The selection reaffirmed Brimson's role as England's first-choice number one during the tournament.
The Gold Coast Titans gave Brimson permission to speak with rival NRL clubs even though he is contracted to the club until 2030. Reports said his market value could attract a significant bidding war, with interest linked to incoming expansion clubs.
