Captain Kapil Kundu was a commissioned officer of the Indian Army who served with the 15 JAK LI (Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry) Regiment. He was martyred on 4 February 2018 during unprovoked Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, just six days before his 23rd birthday. He was the first person from his native village Ransika to become an army officer.
