Latest News about Griffin Jax
13/10/2026
The Tampa Bay Rays announced that Griffin Jax would start Game 3 of the 2026 American League Championship Series in Cleveland against the Guardians. The move was a surprise, as it came after Nick Martinez left his Division Series start following a line drive off his lower back. Jax, a former reliever who moved into the rotation this season, was set to be his first playoff start.

The Rays placed Jax on the 15-day injured list with right elbow discomfort, a day after he was scratched from a scheduled start against the Seattle Mariners. Initial tests showed the injury was not ligament related. He was activated on 02/09/2026 after a rehab start and returned to the rotation.
