Latest News about Gareth Southgate
In an interview on The Amol Rajan Connection, Gareth Southgate said he does not see a scenario in which he returns to managing a Premier League club. He had been out of management since stepping down as England manager after the Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain. Reports had linked him with vacant club jobs, including Manchester United, but he has ruled out a return to the Premier League.
Southgate revealed he turned down opportunities to work as a television pundit during the 2026 World Cup, his first World Cup since leaving the England job. He said on Instagram that he took a conscious decision to stay out of the way, as he felt his presence on air could be unhelpful to the England squad, and he sent the team a message of encouragement.
