Latest News about Rafa Mir
Mir signed with Greek club Aris Thessaloniki after receiving a special permit from the Provincial Court of Valencia to move abroad. The permit requires him to sign monthly at the Spanish consulate in Thessaloniki while his conviction is under appeal.
Mir's loan spell at Elche was terminated following his conviction. Reports indicated that Sevilla would likely move to end his contract as well.
A Valencian court sentenced Rafa Mir to eight and a half years in prison after finding him guilty of sexual assault and causing bodily harm, with compensation of €64,000 ordered for the victim. The ruling is a first-instance decision that can be appealed, and Mir said he would appeal, maintaining his innocence. He had been on loan at Elche from Sevilla at the time.
