Some Lesser Known Facts

1. Vijeta Dahiya is from a farmer’s family.
2. From age of 12, he became interested in theatre.
3. He joined Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited in July 2009 as a Business Intelligence Executive for the Demand Requirement Planning module of SAP-APO post his graduation.
4. He later secured a government job and served as Assistant at the Ministry of External Affairs to supplement his creative work with a job.
5. During his time in theatre, he worked on another 15 plays, in addition to making two or three short films, writing and directing independently.
6. After resigning from his government job, he moved to Mumbai to become an actor and auditioned extensively.
7. He wasn’t very fond of the audition process and decided to learn filmmaking.
8. His father didn’t like his choice of being a filmmaker but his mother supported him.
9. He has also been a translator and assistant for documentary production that aired on Korean national TV.
10. He staged street plays in 15 colleges of Sonepat and Panipat to sensitise the people about gender discrimination and female foeticide.
11. He has directed two plays for Rotary Public School, Gurgaon.
12. He conducted a street play on the importance of girl child at a health fair presided over by the Chief Minister for HLFPPT.
13. Dahiya was an author and director of two Haryanvi movies.
14. He is also the author of two books and has penned stories, articles, and scripts in various genres.
15. Dahiya has been known for his association with YouTube creator Dhruv Rathee, working as a researcher and scriptwriter for the videos.
