Dame Mary Rosa Alleyne Hunnings DBE is an English food writer, chef, baker and television presenter who has been teaching Britain how to cook for over six decades. Born in Bath in 1935, she survived a near-fatal bout of polio at age 13, after which she turned to her passion for cookery. She studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris at age 22 and has since become one of the nation's most prolific and beloved cookery writers and television personalities.
