Flight Lieutenant Towkir Islam Sagar of the 35th Squadron, Bangladesh Air Force, died in a training jet crash when his F-7 BGI aircraft crashed into Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, shortly after takeoff. The crash killed at least 19 people including students and injured numerous civilians. Towkir was found alive but succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital; he had been absent from flying activities for more than two years before the crash.
