Lee Jae-myung was sworn in as the 14th President of South Korea on June 4, 2025, at the National Assembly in Seoul following his victory in the snap presidential election. He succeeded Yoon Suk Yeol, who was removed from office after his impeachment over a brief imposition of martial law in December 2024. In his first acts as president, Lee nominated Kim Min-seok as prime minister and moved the presidential residence back to Cheong Wa Dae from Yongsan in December 2025.
