He was born in a middle-class family in Chandrapur, Maharashtra.
He moved to Mumbai in 1995 along with his family.
During his college days, he used to mimic his Professors.
After college, he struggled for 3 years.
In an interview, he revealed that he worked at a tea stall in Santacruz as a waiter.
In 2000, he got a chance to do a world tour as a junior artist along with Aamir Khan for Lagaan.
He rose to fame after winning The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005.
He self-created a drunkard character of Ratan Noora, which was widely praised.
He has appeared in several Bollywood films including Bombay To Goa (2007), Phir Hera Pheri, Apna Sapna Money Money, Kick, etc.
In 2010, he produced & directed a film Bhavnao Ko Samjho, which holds the Guinness World Records for a record 51 stand-up comedians in a single film.
