Sophie Grégoire Trudeau is a Canadian public speaker, retired television host, and philanthropist. Born in Montreal on April 24, 1975, she is the only child of Jean Grégoire, a stockbroker, and Estelle Blais, a Franco-Ontarian nurse. She grew up in the Mount Royal suburb of Montreal and attended the Pensionnat du Saint-Nom-de-Marie, where she was classmates with Michel Trudeau, the younger brother of Justin Trudeau.
She studied commerce at McGill University and later pursued communications, earning a B.A. from Université de Montréal. In the early 2000s, she worked as a television reporter and host for various Canadian networks including LCN, TVA Television, and CTV's eTalk. She became a certified yoga instructor in 2012.
Grégoire married Justin Trudeau on May 28, 2005, and the couple had three children together: Xavier James, Ella-Grace Margaret, and Hadrien Gregoire.
