Shaan Shahid

Shaan Shahid criticised Pakistani actors who seek work in the Indian entertainment industry during a recent interview. He said that visa requirements make the practical limits of an actor's boundaries clear, while stating that individuals are free to make their own choices. He also questioned why Indian productions would need Pakistani performers when India produces many new actors every month.

In a podcast interview, Shaan Shahid questioned whether social media personalities such as TikTokers can sustain lasting acting careers in mainstream film and television. He argued that instant popularity does not necessarily translate into long-term success, citing established artists from Pakistan's history as examples. The remarks sparked a wider public debate within the industry.

Shaan Shahid publicly called for more original storytelling in Pakistani cinema. The remarks were presented as part of a broader discussion about the direction of the industry and the need for distinctive local content.

The teaser and trailer for Psycho, a film directed by Shaan Shahid, were launched in Karachi. Shaan also stars in the film alongside Meera, Sonya Hussyn and Shabbir Jan, and it was scheduled for release around Eidul Azha. The film was produced by Salman Butt.

Shaan Shahid said on the show Rise & Shine that Fahad Mustafa and Humayun Saeed want to stay in their comfort zones and do not challenge their craft. He also criticised film producers for inflating production costs, which he said creates barriers for new entrants. He called for the industry's success to drive its expansion.

Shaan Shahid was reported to be returning to the big screen in the upcoming Eidul Fitr film Bullah after spending time away from the spotlight. The report framed the project as a notable comeback and a significant new entry in his film career.
