Political Journey

In 2011, he joined the nationwide campaign against the corruption.
Eventually joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), founded by anti-corruption activists.
Worked as the National Executive of the party.
Contested (as an AAP candidate) in the Indian General elections from the Gurgaon constituency in 2014. Stood fourth.
Voted out on 4 March 2015 from AAP's PAC (Political Affairs Committee).
Evicted from the party for alleged 'Anti-Party Activities' on 28 March.
Formed a new political organization, Swaraj India, on 14 April 2015, with Anand Kumar, Ajit Jha, and Prashant Bhushan.

1. Yogendra Yadav changed his name from Salim to Yogendra at the age of 5 due to bullying by Hindu children.
2. His grandfather lost his life trying to prevent a Muslim mob from entering a school; his father witnessed a massacre during Partition.
3. Yogendra Yadav served as a political science professor at Punjab University from 1985 to 1993.
4. He established the Lokniti network between 1995 and 2000.
5. Yogendra Yadav is known for providing political commentary on different TV channels such as Doordarshan, NDTV, and CNN-IBN.
