| Yash Thakur is an Indian cricketer who played for the Lucknow Super Giants in the 2023 Indian Premier League season. He was inspired to pursue a professional cricket career after India's 2011 Cricket World Cup victory. Thakur joined the Pravin Hinganikar Cricket Academy in Nagpur, Maharashtra in 2011. Initially a batter in underage tournaments, he later transitioned to focus on developing his bowling skills at the academy. Yash Thakur admired former Indian captain MS Dhoni and started as a wicketkeeper batter before his coach advised him to switch to fast bowling. He made his Under-19 ODI debut against Malaysia in the 2016-2017 ACC Under-19s Asia Cup, grabbing two wickets. Thakur served as a net bowler for Punjab Kings in the IPL in September 2020. During the 2023 IPL season, he took 13 wickets in 9 matches for Lucknow Super Giants. |
