The Enforcement Directorate arrested Vikram Wadhwa in connection with its money-laundering investigation into the alleged diversion of public funds through IDFC First Bank accounts. Investigators said he received a large share of the proceeds of crime and moved the funds through business entities and immovable properties linked to him.
Vikram Wadhwa was arrested by the Chandigarh Police Crime Branch after evading authorities since February 22, 2026. He was intercepted at a hideout in Khakar, Mohali, and sent to five-day police remand to help investigators trace the money trail in the Rs 590-crore IDFC First Bank fraud case, which allegedly involved more than 2,400 transactions through shell companies and private accounts.
