V. Senthil Balaji commenced his political journey at the age of 21.
He served as the councillor of Karur Uratchi Onriyam in 1996.
Balaji represented the Karur Legislative Assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu from 2006 to 2016 and later the Aravakurichi Constituency in Tamil Nadu from 2016 to 2021.
Coming from an agricultural background, he has a strong affiliation with Kabadi, Ko Ko, and Volleyball.
In the 2016 Tamil Nadu legislative assembly election, he emerged victorious from the Aravakurichi Legislative Assembly constituency.
Balaji secured the Aravakurichi assembly seat in 2019, representing two different parties during a single assembly term.
He won the 2021 Tamil Nadu legislative assembly election by defeating AIADMK’s M. R. Vijayabhaskar in the Karur legislative assembly constituency with a margin of 12,448 votes.
