OverviewUrvil Patel began his cricketing journey during childhood in Mehsana, Gujarat. He honed his skills at the PCCC Academy under the guidance of Prakash Patni. His List-A debut for Baroda against Karnataka on 7 February 2018 showcased his talent as he took 5 catches and scored 10 not out. He made his T20 debut for Baroda in January 2018, followed by his Vijay Hazare debut in February 2018. Transitioning to Gujarat, he became known for his aggressive batting style and high strike rate. In the 2023 IPL auction, he was acquired by Gujarat Titans. On 27 November 2024, during the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored a 28-ball century (113 not out with 7 fours and 12 sixes) against Tripura, establishing himself as the premier domestic T20 opener in India. He made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings on 7 May 2025 against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, scoring 31 runs off 11 balls. After going unsold in the 2025 IPL auction, he was later signed by Chennai Super Kings as a replacement for Vansh Bedi for ₹30 lakh.
