The Tata Sons board reappointed N. Chandrasekaran as chairman at a meeting on 17 September 2026, with four directors voting in favour and Noel Tata opposing. The decision has deepened a governance dispute between Tata Sons and Tata Trusts, which together hold a large stake in the holding company, over succession and a possible stock market listing.
