Sukh Ram made significant contributions to India's telecom industry during his term as the Minister of Communications and Information Technology from 1993 to 1996.
He began his political journey with the Congress party and returned to it in 2019.
He led the Himachal Vikas Congress party successfully.
In 2004, he merged the Himachal Vikas Congress with the Congress party.
He held the position of Power Minister in Himachal Pradesh with the BJP.
He played a crucial role in the introduction of mobile phones in India.
He had a family connection to Salman Khan, as his grandson Aayush Sharma is married to Salman's sister, Arpita Khan.
Sukh Ram suffered a brain stroke on 4 May 2022 and sadly passed away on 11 May 2022 due to a massive cardiac arrest.
