Subhash Chandra Goenka is an Indian billionaire media baron and chairman of the Essel Group.
He is known for founding Zee TV, India's first private satellite television channel launched in 1992.

Started as a rice trader and commission agent in his family business.
Established Essel Packaging in the 1980s, focusing on flexible packaging for fast-moving consumer goods.
Launched EsselWorld, India's first amusement park, in 1989.
Founded Zee TV in 1992, India's first private Hindi satellite television channel, breaking the monopoly of state-run Doordarshan.
