Physicist and broadcaster Brian Cox was named the recipient of the 2026 Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication, awarded by Starmus. The medal was established by Starmus together with Hawking a decade earlier to honour science communicators. Cox received it at a ceremony in London on 2 October 2026, with co-founders Brian May and Garik Israelian presenting it.
