Shilpa Shukla is an Indian theatre, television, and Bollywood film actress known for her work in Hindi cinema and web series.
She was born into a Bihari Bhumihar family in Hajipur, Vaishali district, Bihar, and was brought up in New Delhi, Kolkata, and Gujarat.
She has a Ladhaki-Tibetan background and was raised in a family of civil servants, political leaders, and scholars.
Shilpa began her career as a theatre artist under the guidance of renowned theatre actor and director Maharaj Krishna Raina.
She initially appeared in Doordarshan TV serials before transitioning to films, where she gained recognition for her performances in independent and mainstream cinema.
She is best known for her role as Bindiya Naik in the 2007 sports drama 'Chak De! India' opposite Shah Rukh Khan, which earned her critical acclaim and award nominations.
Her bold performance in the 2013 film 'B.A. Pass' brought her further acclaim and several awards, including the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress.
