Sandip Soparrkar publicly defended actor Ananya Panday after she faced criticism over a Bharatanatyam-inspired fusion dance sequence in the film Chand Mera Dil. He called the backlash selective outrage and argued that films interpret dance forms differently from classical stage performances. He also recalled having trained Ananya during her appearance at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris.
Soparrkar marked International Dance Day with 'Dance Never Ages - A Tribute to Our Seniors', a showcase for elderly participants. The event was presented by Nina Chauhan of Nina's Sanctuary with the India Fine Arts Council, and featured senior citizens from the Parkinson's Society of India alongside other dance groups.
Sandip Soparkar appeared in the Kannada film Koragajja, which was launched with an audio event in Mangaluru. Reports described this as his debut in Kannada cinema and noted that he played a special role in the project.
