Latest News about Sam Costelow
Costelow kicked the decisive late penalty in Scarlets' 27-26 win over Benetton in the United Rugby Championship, a result the club saw as a key boost after a difficult start to the season. He had earlier missed kicks that cost the team in the match.
Costelow scored a try and kicked two conversions in Scarlets' 47-14 win over Newcastle Red Bulls in their EPCR Challenge Cup opener at Parc y Scarlets. It was his first competitive start of the season and his 50th appearance for the club.
Costelow underwent ankle surgery and was ruled out for the rest of the Scarlets 2025-26 season. He had picked up the injury during Wales' Six Nations match against Scotland in February 2026.
Costelow signed a new contract to remain with the Scarlets, ending speculation that he might return to Leicester Tigers. At the time he had made 67 appearances and scored 420 points for the Llanelli-based region since 2020.
