Latest News about Roseanne Barr
Barr revealed that John Goodman, her former Roseanne co-star, declined an invitation to appear in Meemaw. Goodman had starred alongside her on the original Roseanne sitcom, so his decision means the two will not share the screen again in this project.
Barr told The Hollywood Reporter that she is now shopping the self-financed Meemaw to potential buyers, saying she wants a show that can become a number one hit. No premiere date or distributor had been announced at the time of reporting. She also said she had not received a reply from Elon Musk about the project.
Roseanne Barr announced that she had finished shooting Meemaw, an eight-episode family comedy, eight years after ABC and Disney dropped her from the 2018 Roseanne revival over a tweet. The series was shot in Austin, Texas, with private investors funding it as a union production. She described it as a satirical take on politics and family that she says aims at both the left and the right.
