Ravindra Chavan held the position of Kalyan Sub-District President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha from 2002 to 2005.
In 2007, he advocated for a salary increase for KDMC workers.
In 2009, he achieved victory in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections against a candidate from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena by 12,327 votes.
He played a crucial role in securing jobs for 285 KDMC workers by resolving legal obstacles in June 2011.
In August 2011, he initiated the 'Taala Thoko Andolan' for infrastructure improvements in Dombivli, securing commitments from Central Railway officials to address community concerns.
