R. Mutharasan warned that if the CPI and CPI(M) withdrew their support, the government would lose its legislative majority and face a serious crisis. He used the remarks to criticise Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and his ministers for what he described as a diversion from the issues raised in the Assembly.

R. Mutharasan said that Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam's recent electoral victory should not be treated as permanent and argued that a party's strength cannot be judged by one election result alone. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters in Tiruvarur, responding to political commentary around the DMK and TVK.

R. Mutharasan welcomed a set of budget measures announced by the Tamil Nadu government and called for the fulfilment of its promise to fully waive crop loans for farmers. He made the appeal while taking part in a nationwide CPI campaign against the BJP-led central government.

R. Mutharasan urged the Tamil Nadu government to convene an all-party meeting on the Cauvery dispute. He said the issue affects the entire state and needs a united political response rather than separate party positions.

R. Mutharasan criticised the BJP-led NDA government, accusing it of losing public trust and failing farmers, workers, students, and women over its 12 years in power. He also said the government was trying to avoid accountability, repeating a line of criticism he has used in political speeches and media interactions.
